Victoria Falls National park is home to many different species which are nocturnal. The hot African sun is a formidable presence here and it is understandable that many of the creatures prefer to be wakeful when the bush is cooler.
The wildlife in the area is a sight to behold in the daytime – but there are many viewing opportunities at night which are often missed.
Nocturnal animals are animals which are awake at night… These animals are most active during night time which makes the hours between sunset and sunrise particularly special here.
Hippo’s, owl’s and wild dogs are just some of the amazing nocturnal animals you will be able to see while driving through the Game Reserves around Victoria Falls. Elephants and lions are also nocturnal although not entirely.
Enjoy lions, leopards and other wildlife from the comfort of a spacious vehicle. Using powerful flashlights the guides will be able to show you what animals get up to when the sun goes down.
The spray around the falls creates a rainforest which attracts a diverse range of flora and fauna. The rainforest creates a canopy under which many smaller mammals thrive.
