African living at its’ most luxurious is demonstrated in the accommodation options at Masuwe Lodge. Guests have a choice between a double-bedded canvas tent or 6 twin-bedded canvas tents, both of which have en-suite shower, toilet and basin facilities. A thatch roof protects the interior against the weather. For the honeymooners, Masuwe Lodge offers a romantic getaway in the form of an executive en-suite tented, thatch-roofed chalet. Each east African-styled tent is elevated on a teak platform and includes a verandah, deck chairs and a private view of the bush. The lodge accommodates 20 guests.
The thatched main building at Masuwe Lodge houses the bar, lounge and dining areas and is open-sided so that guests can experience the smells, sights and sounds of the bush and wildlife around them. On one side, guests are able to view a floodlit waterhole. The other side looks out onto a stone-built swimming pool and sun terrace. There is also a dedicated area for a braai / barbecue.
Kudu, zebra, wildebeest, elephants, impala and a wide variety of birds are some of the spectacular wildlife you will be able to see at the estate. Guests might be lucky enough to see the elusive leopard at Masuwe.
Elephant back safaris, game drives at Chamaponda National Park, walking safaris with an armed and experienced guide and visits to the Victoria Falls are available at an extra cost.
The big attraction at Masuwe Lodge, and a guaranteed exclusive and unique experience, is the chance to walk with the lion cubs. Safari Par Excellence and African Encounter have joined together to create the first “Lion Encounter” project at Victoria Falls. Although this activity is at an extra cost, guests can feel comfortable in knowing that they are contributing to the survival and well-being of these magnificent beasts.
Wild animals roam the grounds at Masuwe Lodge at various times of day and night. Children under the age of 12 are only allowed on request and on condition that parents are aware of the possible danger. Indemnity forms for each child will need to be signed at the check-in desk.
