Victoria Falls village is a quaint town 10 minutes from the Falls, on the outskirts of the Zambezi National Park. This bustling hive of activity, is a perfect base for exploring the region. Victoria Falls is a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe. The spray can be seen from miles, with a width of nearly two km the water flows into a deep gorge nearly 100m below. The basalt cliff, over which the falls thunder, transforms the Zambezi from a wide placid river to a ferocious torrent cutting through a series of dramatic gorges. There is a great walk in the rainforest, on the lip of the chasm opposite the Falls is a unique swathe of dense tropical vegetation which thrives on the spray thrown up throughout the year. Well kept paths takes tourists through the forest, with occasional diversions to viewing points of Victoria Falls.
