Chichele Presidential Lodge

The beautiful South Luangwa National Park offers primeval forests and lush savanna, with the Luangwa River basin that stretches for hundreds of miles.

The lodge was formerly a private retreat with the most spectacular sites in the park. The old building, built in 1972 was transformed into a superb 'turn of the century' lodge. Chichele Presidential Lodge is approximately 2 hours drive by 4x4 vehicle from the airport.

Chichele Presidential Lodge has 11 air conditioned Victorian style suites with en-suite facilities and private panoramic views. In order to utilize the floodplain vistas that are offered by the site, the suites where built along the very edge of the lovely hillside.

Each of the suites are equipped with mosquito nets, a mini bar and a hairdryer. The fabulous lodge also boasts a well stocked curio shop, conference facilities and a relaxing sparkling swimming pool. Chichele Presidential Lodge serves a wide variety of scrumptious dishes in the luxurious dining room indoors or out on the scenic boma and verandah area outside.

Enjoy full range game drives in the magnificent South Luangwa National Park in the open 4x4 vehicles, venture out on the game walks that will be conducted by a professional and a well armed national parks scout. Chichele Presidential Lodge has night game drives with spotlights where you can see the nocturnal animals including the leopard, spotted hyena and the bush babies. Other animals to spot during the day time are the buffalo, wild dog, elephant, lion and variety of antelope.
