Accommodation at Taita Falcon Lodge is of superior quality. Soft furnishings compliment the handcrafted furniture by local craftsmen who use indigenous material. The open plan stone and reed chalets have en-suite bathrooms and are equipped with mosquito nets and coils. The chalets reed walls are raised at ¾ height, but can be raised to full extent.
At Taita Falcon Lodge, the emphasis is on individual attention and the hosts and staff members are extremely accommodating. Guests can request the chalets to be made up as single, double, twin or family rooms.
The central living area hosts a swimming pool and viewing deck and paths crisscross between indigenous bush and gardens that lead to the secluded chalets.
A three-course buffet dinner is served in an open sided dining area and has a stunning view of the gorge and river below.
A considerable variety of bird life, peregrine falcons, black eagles and the taita falcon, can be viewed from this vantage point. The lodge is named after this rare falcon and the best time to spot the falcon is in the evening when the bird is in rapid flight, trying to catch a meal.
Taita Falcon Lodge offers the best of two worlds to visitors, tranquility and serenity should one prefer it, but also many activities such as white water rafting, rock climbing, guided bush and bird tours, fishing, village tours and hiking trails. The area’s landscape, vistas, wild and birdlife, is a picture that will be captured in the hearts of all to remember.
Taita Falcon Lodge’s personal service and attention, comfortable and quality accommodation, and spectacular views, will make every guests’ visit a true African adventure.
