Guests staying at Songwe Village get the opportunity to experience an authentic African village, by staying in luxurious thatched huts. Each of the eight huts is fully equipped with a large en-suite bathroom, with toilets and showers, as well as breathtaking views of the deep Zambezi Gorge below.
This intimate location offers guests a real insight into the African culture and its people, with trips to museums and a look into this rich heritage, given by the people of the nearby Mukuni Village. These people will tell you heart-warming stories about the lives of their ancestors and what it was like living in those ancient times.
Visitors to this village will also be given lessons in wood carving and grain pounding, skills that are still carried out to this day. And if you’re lucky, you will get the chance to meet the great Chief Mukuni himself.
Another great experience guests staying at Songwe Village can enjoy is the thrill of the mighty Falls. Some of the activities offered here include micro lighting, bungi jumping and white water rafting.
There is also a gorgeous golfing green nearby at the Elephant Hills Country Club, if you’re in the mood for playing a few rounds. Guests can also fight with a Tiger Fish in the Zambezi River, and who knows, you might even hook one?
