The large wooden beds are handcrafted locally and are available in doubles and twins. The huts are equipped with mosquito nets. Reed showers with hot water and bio-degradable septic tanks are shared facilities. Guests can lounge beneath the lush palm trees, lay back, and enjoy swinging lazily in hammocks. The soothing sounds of the African bush at night serenade sleeping guests.
Jungle Junction has a self-catering kitchen where guests can cook on charcoal fires. Breakfast and dinner can be booked at the restaurant. The bar is candle lit, a true “junction” for guests to meet, listen to ethnic choir music and watch traditional dancing. The magic of this experience will touch your soul.

Expeditions, from Bovu Island, are taken to the smaller island where the jungle is located. Explore this glorious area with the Katombora River roaring pass. Push away the palms and begin your journey into the tropical jungle. Communal toilets and bucket showers are available. Camping equipment can be hired guest may bring their own.
The two islands have evergreen forestry. This is a bird watchers paradise where species such as parrots, owls, hornbills and woodpeckers congregate. Vervet monkeys swing from the indigenous waterberry and fig trees along the banks of the Zambezi River. The forest hosts a variety of insect and plant life. Watch the butterflies, dragonflies and bees dance on fruit bearing plants. Lillies and orchids appear during the rainy season and it is a beautiful sight to view.
Jungle Junction’s huge variety of activities will ensure that every guest’s needs are fulfilled. Take a trip on a dugout canoe to view wild and birdlife, enjoy a morning or sunset cruise, go tiger fishing, swimming or take a leisurely village walk.
