These great and famous falls, named by Dr. David Livingstone for his queen, Victoria, in November 1855, were well known to the indigenous peoples of Southern Africa by many names, perhaps the most meaningful being Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders).

The banks of the mighty Zambezi have welcomed a breathtaking two-story 77-roomed hotel, comprising 72 river facing rooms and 5 luxurious suites. Historical English elements reflect in lofty scale with the rawness of texture, stone, wood and earth, contrasting with the richness of exotic gold, bronze, copper and ivory, once traded through ancient Arab routes. East Africa's Zanzibarian doors, screens and furniture are beautifully mixed with the spice colours of the orient and are beautifully positioned maximizing stunning views of "siloka' island, in close proximity to Victoria Falls.

The hotel offers visitors a restaurant, bar and conference facilities, suitable to cater for large groups, with a variety of safari excursions and activities in and around the falls. The Lady Livingstone, a 144 seater river cruiser comprising of 3 decks, enables guests to experience Africa in a unique style on the Zambezi River. The Lodge's Spa will welcome guests in April 2008.
