Avalon Houseboat

Experience Lake Kariba in a different way - experience from the water! The Avalon Houseboat is a magnificent and tranquil way to enjoy a holiday in Zambia. From the boat, guests can witness large animals as they make their way to the shore to drink, and get those once in a lifetime photographs!!

This 80' by 28' pontoon boat offers guests the ultimate form of relaxation, as well as fun activities on the water of the majestic Lake Kariba. The Avalon has four spacious double cabins or twin cabins, if guests would prefer. Of these three have en-suite bathrooms. If you're in the mood for some stargazing, there are eight extra bunk beds on the deck upstairs, for you to sleep out in the open night air. On this deck, there is a toilet, and on the deck below, there are two showers and two toilets. There is also a lovely saloon, with three comfortable couches, that fold out into double beds.

You'll never have to worry about the safety of curious little children on The Avalon. With balustrades around the boat, as well as gates on all the stairwells, parents are guaranteed peace of mind. There is even a splash pool and a croc-safe swimming cage, allowing guests the chance to take much needed dips in the lake. To keep you comfortable in the harsh African sun, there are cool, shaded rooms available, in which to relax.

Some of the activities guests can enjoy while staying on The Avalon include game viewing from an unrivaled vantage point, bird-watching and fishing up a storm! The Avalon boasts two canoes, for guests who would enjoy a little exercise, as well as the Scud, which is a tender vessel available for exploration of Lake Kariba.
