Musango Safari Camp is a private concession and the only “owner run and managed” safari camp on Lake Kariba. The exclusive and luxurious 16-bedded tented camp is sheltered by thatched roofs with sumptuous en-suite bathrooms built of natural stone. Each chalet has its own front veranda with panoramic views across Lake Kariba and on the horizon, Matusadona National Park and mountains. For extra comfort and luxury, Musango Safari Camp has two honeymoon suites, each uniquely crafted from natural stone and built to blend in with the tented camps with the same thatched roofing. The canvas interiors ensure total privacy and honeymooners can retreat to their own secluded plunge pool. Musango Safari Camp has a relaxing swimming pool area situated near a bar and lounge deck for all guests.
With its idyllic island location, Musango Safari Camp offers wonderful activities for outdoor enthusiasts: game-viewing walking safaris, boat cruises, pontoon cruises, canoeing, fishing and 4x4 game drives. The camp also provides specialist birding trips, cultural village trips to Batonka fishing village and dinosaur fossil site visits. Spend a morning at the Rhino Orphanage with the baby black rhinoceros and get a glimpse into the lives of these massive creatures. Enjoy watching them feed, wallow in mud pools and interact with other wildlife in the area. This program was specifically developed to reintroduce orphaned black rhinos into the bush.
